The trailer introduces the brief introduction to the time trailer hook for “Men in Black 3,” taking Smith’s Agent J back to the 1960s. There, Agent J meets a younger version of Lee’s Agent K, played by Josh Brolin. Of course, the time travel is necessary as Agents J and K once attempt to save New York City – and the planet – from aliens.
The production has experienced delays, reportedly due to script problems but the trailer offers hopes such things have been addressed. The two-minute trailer shows “Men in Black” in fine form. Smith and Jones wear their roles, and suits, as if they had been tailor-made for the actors. Brolin, too, is comfortable in Agent K’s skin. And there are plenty of aliens, special effects and humor…all evoking the fun of the 1997 first "MIB."
n Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
The film stars Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Alice Eve, Emma Thompson, Rip Torn, Johnny Knoxville, and Jemaine Clement.
“Men in Black 3” will be released to movie theatres, in 3D on May 25, 2012.
